R-22 Phaseout: 3 Things You Need to Know

Hydrochloroflurocarbons (HCFCs) are known as ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and are being phased out of use per the Montreal Protocol (an international effort to eventually eliminate substances that threaten the ozone). R-22 is currently the most widely used HCFC in the U.S. today. The infographic below shows the 3 main things that you need to know about the phaseout for all applications of the refrigerant.

What does this mean for you? If you have an industrial refrigeration system using R-22, it is time to start thinking about the next step to updating your refrigerant. Whether it is a retrofit or a complete overhaul, M&M Refrigeration is prepared to answer any questions that you may have.
